POTUGADU REVIEW

POTUGADU REVIEW

potugadu review

Star Cast : Manchu Manoj, Sakshi Chowdhary, Posani Krishna Murali & others
Director : Pawan Wadeyar
Producer :  Sirisha, sridher lagadapati
Genre : Comedy – Romance
Music : Achu
Released on : Sept 14, 2013.

Manchu Manoj, who had a miserable time last year is back with Potugadu now. This film is a remake of Kannada hit "Govindaya Namaha".

Potugadu review: Storyline

Govind (Manoj) is a very selfish and easy going guy who doesn't know the value of true love. When he himself faces the ill fate of love, Govind decides to commit suicide. What happens next?

Potugadu review: Star performances

Manchu Manoj is ok as the Govind. He went over board in few scenes, but he was more concerned about other technical departments than his acting however, he did a fine job as lead. His natural ease and energy levels play important role in this flick. All the heroines are not up to the mark. Anupriya is better when compared to others. Posani keeps the humor alive in the plot which appears to be predictable.  Ali is average as a Dr. Samarame.

Potugadu review: Direction, Music & Technical Aspects

The director has entwined two totally different life stories with  5 love stories into one, however the shaping is not successful. The first half of the film is properly  paced, with okay entertainment scenes. But the second half is slow, dull and dragging, a nearly complete contrasts to the first half. Dialogues are poor. Music is an asset. All the songs are good to hear as well as on screen. Background score is fine. Cinematography is good. Editing is crisp. Though Story is interesting. Direction is just average.

Potugadu review: Analysis

Potugadu contains a fine story and has few factors that work in favor of it. However there are several factors that may work against it. Lets talk about the positives first. There are few good comedy scenes that are aimed at the masses. Despite many double meaning dialogues those scenes will work in the favor of Potugadu at the box office. Songs are pretty good and there is one good twist in the story, which will come as a surprise.

There ends the positives and rest of the film is a total yawn! Director simply raced away without paying attention to the details. All the love stories are badly executed. Climax is a joke with such artificial emotions thrown in. The film goes over board at seveal instances and it will surely test your patience. Keeping the things short and crisp the director made a huge favor for himself.

Potugadu releases at a time where there is no single film of other big heroes to watch. This may help the movie to score big at the ticket counters in spite of average content. This is surely better than Manoj's previous outings and you may watch it if you like his style of acting.

Potugadu review: Bottemline

Potugadu is an average mass-comedy flick.
